Progress: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Progress is always a good thing. It means we are moving forward. Moving forward with our goals. I have been working on a huge goal for the past month and a half. My goal is to lose weight, eat healthier, and get fit. Three goals that are all wound up into one. Part of this journey has been learning how to overcome some self-confidence issues I have in relation to my body image.
Yesterday I figuratively took the bull by the horns and posted three photos I have taken in workout clothes to show my progress. It took me a lot to type up that FB post and then actually post the pics. I realized that most pics I post are head shots of me. But now I feel better, I can personally see a difference when I put on clothes that are much looser, and in the photos I can physically see a difference. Do I back slide on this journey? Occasionally, but then I just work out that much harder. Do I have great support from my friends? YES! So, please keep up the motivational comments, gifs, and memes you are sending me...they are happily welcomed and wanted.
Another part of my progress is to rid my life of things that are negative or weighing me down and making me unhappy and full of despair. A life cleansing if you will. I am beginning to surround myself with positive, upbeat, people that like me for me. That like me for my personality, my zest for life, and my caring nature. People that are not going to tell me, "I like you for your personality, but your body......that's something different" OR "You have gorgeous eyes and a beautiful smile....if only your body matched". Those people are or will be gone from my life as I have no use for them anymore.
I also went and looked at a small two bedroom house for rent yesterday in Quantico. In an effort to be more thrifty right now, I need to lower the rent amount that goes out every month. from $1729 to $1295 is much better. The house isn't anything to look at from outside, but the entire inside has been remodeled with all new stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher), to a ceramic tile shower, and hardwood floors. I will also look towards Stafford county, in Garrisonville perhaps.
My plans today include going to Locust Shade Park after school to walk on a trail there, switching it up a little bit, then back to school to sell tickets for girls soccer tonight. Once I get home I will go lift weights.
The pics below show my progression: Top-3/6/17, bottom left on 3/13/17, and bottom right on 3/26/17 (yesterday)
